Personally, @Baraka_Guru, I call it "hoovering your food." My husband does it. I can be 1/3 of the way through a meal and he will be finished. He is either constantly chewing or constantly shoving food into his mouth. What's strange is that he's relatively polite about it. I did once break it off with a guy because he was a disgusting eater, so I do notice these things. I'm always amazed at how fast he can eat.

Like @Baraka_Guru I always consume while I'm cooking or while someone else is if given the chance.
I also wolf down my food at a good pace...unless I'm talking, then others will win the "race".

Also, I've a tendency to eat one thing at a time...finishing one then moving to the next.
Order is according my taste buds at the time and whim.
Although I am getting better at mixing tastes on a plate...but I don't force it, it just is. (drives my dad crazy for some reason... )

I do often like taking everything and mixing it all together at once into one delicious lump. Then gobbling it up.

And even though I eat fast...I am polite, as my grandfather drilled into me...and I mostly clean my plate.
Again, I'm getting better at leaving things if I'm full.

Personally, I don't think there should be "rules" for eating, other than table manners.
