do you see nudism as 100% unsexual?

Discussion in 'Tilted Life and Sexuality' started by sara_wifer, Dec 20, 2011.

  1. Wow, grey wolf. I assume the changing into their uniform is done on the court not in the locker room. Teenage girls doing this? Boggles the mind.

    Not always, unfortunately. ;)

The only reason I wouldn't like to be on a nude beach is, sand fleas eating at my tender bits. Clothing offers some defense. Otherwise if you want to hang out, so to speak, I have no problem with it.

issmmm, I did not find the pics disturbing.
Children were included but not really featured.
    Everyone was having fun.
There was no erotic touching or anything particularly/overtly sexual that I noticed.

Im only ever nude in my house and backyard pool area and the clothing optional beach:) My neighbours look. My hubbies dad understands nudism so its ok. Neighbours are like different but i don't like bikini tans so its not good to wear bikinis. Its very summery now like 30 degrees c most days and can get to 40c so i like being outside a lot.

Its a clothing optional beach so its not even shocking lol. And the other places at at home so not sure if its called public. I dont takes my clothes off for people i just like how it feels to have the air hit me.

I like being nude, it's one of the great pleasures of living by myself now. I just have to watch where my bunny decides to hop. Would I be nude in front of people? I'm very self conscious about my size, so that is a problem for me, if I could get over that, then public nudity wouldn't bother me. My first marriage we were nude a lot, not to be sexual just because it is freeing. My second marriage, we had house guests living with us much of the time (her choice not mine) so there wasn't much if any privacy (then she was pissed because we didn't have sex). I enjoy my privacy, what can I say?

Sara, I think some people may look not to be rude or crude towards you, but maybe they are just taken off guard at your openness. I remember the first time I lived with someone and walked around nude, there was nothing sexual in the stares, just surprise and shock at first because they weren't used to it and had always been told that it was a sign of sexual promiscuity.

Hi pan:) I can learn a lot from you, I only am new to marriage. Its fun hearinng about other peoples marriage. None of my friends are married:)
My parents never even let me take my skirt off. My friend just wore undies at there homes but my parents never let me. I agree , if I had a bare bottom at my parents home then it would be shock for them. My hubbies dad is the opposite to my parents absolutely:D

Maybe Nudism isn't sexual but nudity certainly is. I love being nude and am usually nude anytime I'm alone.

Been to some nude beaches and and have seen some unattractive people, but I still think there was something sexual in the air.

i have no problem with nudism and i myself love being naked at every socially acceptable opportunity, but the whole reason that there are clothes are because the bare human body is sexual, every part of it

Clothes are quite handy, because humans excrete... I'd rather not have someone stain my sofas, when they sit naked on them...

I don't think that is necessarily true. The human body has certainly been highly sexualized, but that has not always been the case. I don't believe the human body is innately sexual. Sex is only a single component of the human endeavor, no matter how much of a big deal we make about it.

And I believe clothes came about to protect us from the elements. Unless, of course, you are referring to some biblical Adam and Eve concept of the 'invention' of clothing.

Yes, it's on the court, by the bench, with spectators often less than 20 feet away, by girls down to 11/12. They are all wearing sports bras, which I admit are perfectly modest, but in my mind are still supposed to be underwear. At large tournaments there are usually vendors offering a wide variety of clothing, including bras. I have seen girls try on tops, stripping down to their bras right there as well.

I guess I'm old-fashioned. I would find deliberate nudity at a nude beach or naturist park less disturbing than public disrobing down to the underwear.

I think you mean "can be sexual", not "is". Personally I don't find elbows remotely sexual, but I know someone who thinks that women's elbows are boner-inducing. Our great-grandfathers got turned on by the sight of a "shapely ankle". That hasn't happened yet for me - how about you?

There are certain things that the vast majority of humans can agree on, but what parts of the body are sexually attractive isn't one of them.

Ok, so there's the exception to my rule. But that's the female sexual organ, so it's going to be sexualized by everyone. Which kind of goes back to my point of the vast majority of humans agreeing on - at least the male half.

    Basically:

    No, really.

    ...

Yeah, I don't get nudism as a lifestyle. It's just not practical. It's like going barefoot. It only works in tropical climates and leaves you unprotected from the elements. Hell, badass cave people wore clothes. In a world where your priorities are finding something to kill and eat while avoiding being killed and eaten, that really says something. I'm also pretty sure that Alexander the Great and John M. Browning both wore pants. That's a clue.

Given that 97% of humans have decided to wear pants/loin cloth in public, for better or worse (can we even really argue that?), it seems that nudism, as a lifestyle, is merely a crazy cult for those living temperatures allow it. I'm all for people doing whatever, but it is my opinion that most "nudists" us lay people see are merely attention-seekers no different than the drunk girls that make out with each other at the club. It's kinda like every time I perform a visual analysis of a fit girl in a thong bikini at the beach. Typically I'm thinking: 1) she knows she's sexy, 2) she wants to show off.

    So:

Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. But don't try to say it isn't sexual.

That said, I'll see y'all at the beach. I'll be the smiling guy with the binoculars.

    ...

Naked men? Eh, just awkward. I mean, pretty sure men invented pants.

And didn't I do a thread on men and pants back on 4.0? That was a hoot.

I believe the overall conclusion was that shriveled penis is never badass.

Guys are unlucky that everybody sees them being solid as a sign of sex but my hubby said guys are solid for reasons nothing to do with it sometimes. I think if solids were not seen as sex then everybody would be allowed to go nude in public. Cos girls are ok to be nude its just that guys solids are seen as like a weapon or something. Guys get solids at the clothing optional beach but never attack me.

Plan9 i get your point but it feels nice being nude on the beach, and its nothing to do with other people. I go as earlier as possible in the morning so nobody is there so i can lotion without worrying. Lotioning is the only part that people could say is sexual so i try to do without anybody there. I feel no different when ive been there for one hour and people start arriving. People make no difference :s
And i never like tan lines (but thats like another reason. main reason is i just like how my free bottom or boobs feel without any clothes pressing. Same with wearing no underwear with dresses, it feels nicer).

I'm going to call bullshit on the 99% of human wearing pants thing, mainly because I'm confident it came from the PDFYA Institute. Now if you open that up to include kilts, loincloths and assorted skirts, maybe I'll stop giving you a hard time, but that's a pretty Westernized generalization about the rest of the world.

You've got a 50/50 chance of being right about who invented pants, though.

But where I think you've gone wrong with the concept of nudism is that you're missing that the presence of clothing is more likely to draw attention to specific areas than nudism does. The girl in the thong you're creeping on is wearing that thong because she thinks she has a nice ass and wants to show it off. You're right that she wants the attention. A nudist doesn't necessarily want the attention - they just don't want to wear clothes. That's my point - you cover something up and strategically reveal it here and there, and it will get sexualized. When you're surrounded by bare boobs, eventually you're going to stop caring about them.

My guess is that you don't know many nudists.

Yeah, yeah... except public nudity is illegal in many places where thongs are allowed. That beach in Chicago, for example.

You're right that I don't know many nudists. I can't stand fanny packs.

    ...

"Solids." Hah. The penis as a weapon, huh? I don't know how anybody would develop that idea.

Wait, are we conflating nudism with nudity?

Should we call it naturism to be more distinctive?

Nudism implies nudity: lacking clothes. Naturism implies a natural state: body as whole.

    Semantics.

We're talking about middle-aged white people hanging out naked on the beach while all those squares wear swim trunks.

    Also:

I'd say George Thorogood's song about nudism is pretty appropriate:

"Get some pants on and get a real job."
