Distance Dating

I had a similar experience, and was dumb enough to repeat it twice more.... and I was only in for 7 years....

Leave time post deployment is not the best time to fall for anyone, no matter what her ass does to your heart rate....

But I personally think LDR's are bad news. How can your garden grow when you can't tend it?

 

i posted earlier, that i dont have alot of faith in LDR's, but i feel like i should also point out that my wife and i started out in an LDR... we met online a few months before i was set for a trip abroad... we met in person a couple of weeks beofre i left, hit it off, and stayed in contact while i was gone. she lived 8 hours form my home in SC, and we discussed her moving while i was away... fortuantley she was in a position to move, and we were both on baord with having a stable relationship... 3 years and 2 kids later, we never look back...

my earlier post was kinda down on the LDR thing, but i was actually thinking of other efforts that were just haert breaking... occassionally when circu,stances are jsut right it works, but i do believe its the exception and not the rule...

 

Oh, under the right set of circumstances, and with the right people, I think an LDR could be successful. I just think the combination rare. I've known a lot who have tried, but none who've succeeded.

 

Odds are it ain't gonna happen. Occasionally, it might work maybe, but there will ultimately be many, many adjustments if the 2 of you EVER get together. Sometimes ldr's only work as ldr's. Enjoy what you can while it lasts.

 

Just from what I have seen with friends, it just doesn't ever work out. I guess if there is intent to move closer together maybe then.
