Mrs. Levite and I voted early, last Thursday. Went to the in-person early voting. It was our first time with electronic touch-screen voting machines, which we liked in general, but, though we trust our local government here, definitely struck me as singularly susceptible to vote fraud....

Still, we're both glad we voted, got it out of the way early, and don't have to fight the crowds on election day.

I like voting: it's one of my civic duties about which I am most punctilious. I just wish there were better options for who to vote for.

I haven't voted yet. We'll be going after work this evening.

I'm still wavering on whether I want to vote for the third party candidate I actually kind of (but not completely) like, but who has no chance of getting 5%; or, voting for one of the major candidates, which would actually just be voting AGAINST the other major candidate. Arg.

I have all day to think about it. I know which way I'm leaning, but I won't make a concrete decision until I'm in the voting booth.

Just got home with my sticker! This is the first time I voted in person, so I almost forgot to turn my ballot into the magical machine.

When I got there, there were a few last minute sign holders out front in support of a proposition I'm very against...so I filled in the No bubble with extra gusto. Also, the fact that there was no wait was wonderful.

Yep. Voted just after the polls opened this morning at the new polling place. I saw one of my neighbors and we both agree that the old place was closer and better. Ah well.

I did manage to roll my ankle on the way in, which wasn't much fun.

I voted earlier this morning while I was out running some errands. I also had about a five minute wait which wasn't bad at all. On a bunch of our local positions, there was only one candidate running. I wasn't going to vote, but it was showing incomplete on my ballot, so I kind of felt like I had to. It irked me a little.

Yep, voted by machine, this morning. Odd choice of technologies, but no big deal.

Mission accomplished. My woman waited in line for 90 minutes and came home raving. I waited in line for less than 15.

I completely understand that, there is one candidate I saw out there that I actually liked but choosing between the <3% vote option or the Lesser of two horribe choices sounded completely unappealing.
I was looking through the voter's pamphlet just now and there are a few noteworthy things in there. One is to legalise marijuana. It would make sense in several respects (the famous quote from Napolean when they asked him to ban tobacco could apply here easily) but is obviously not going to pass. Not something I am concerned about in the first place.
The other one that caught my eye would give homosexuals the legal authority to marry. I have strong opinions on that one I am not going to go into here, but that would give me an actual reason to vote for once.

Actually, it might. Several sheriffs have come out in favor of it, as it means that they can spend their resources pursuing more violent criminals.

I also did vote-by-mail. I enjoy having extra time with my ballot. Finding my polling place, standing in line, waiting... it's all such a hassle. Then when I get to the voting booth I feel like I'm taking some kind of standardized exam and I'm cheating with my little sheet of paper that states what I want to vote for. Absentee voting/voting by mail is by far the best way for me to deal with the process. Though I do get a thrill out of the environment of a polling place. I really appreciate those who choose to work at the polls - it's long hours and thankless work.

I voted absentee by mail so I could vote in my home precinct.. which means I got to vote against John Boehner (or at least NOT vote for him).

I voted this morning after most had already gone to work. There were about a dozen people in line ahead of me. It only took a few minutes. The polling place was a neighborhood Congregational Church that I occasionally attend. The nice church ladies were serving cookies and coffee to all comers.:)

Nebraska has a strict law against "electioneering" within a hundred feet of a polling place on election day. A couple came in behind me, he in his Romney shirt, she wearing Obama and the election judge (referee, umpire, whatever) sent them away. They came back a minute later with the shirts inside out... wanting to make sure that they cancelled out each other's vote.

We voted October 27. I'm just pissed that I couldn't vote against Rick Scott... two more years...
I almost voted for Roseanne Barr, just to avoid voting for either candidate.
But, this was the first year I voted head, not heart in the major elections.
It was a no-brainer on the amendments. Florida had something stupid like 14 or 15 amendments total.
I read my sample ballot early, had made my decisions (Florida uses A LOT of double negatives in the wording of amendments and legal stuff). We waited 30 minutes to get in, it only took me about 10 minutes total (took S almost half an hour because he didn't read the amendments first), then waited another 10 to submit my ballot as one of the scanning machines had broken, and then waited 10 more for S to get done. Not bad for the first day of voting.

Here in AZ you automagically get a mail in ballot unless you opt out when you register.

I like the mail in ballot because I can sit at my desk and research the various ballot props, candidates, and judges (judges are appointed by a commission but we vote on retention).

Yes, I did vote, by mail, a couple weeks ago.

It really floats my boat to see how many TFPers voted. For you East Coasters, you have less than an hour before the polls close! I hope you got it done!

man it must really suck to live in high population areas in regards to voting. is there only one a day a week you can early vote or something. 45 minutes would be a long wait at my precinct on election day at the busiest time. i can't imagine 45 for early voting?
