i think it's supposed to be how cute it is when she says stuff like "well, fuck me like a goat in both ears; it's a clue!!".

Yeah I don't get it either. Michael C Hall and her were married IRL for a while but divorced last Dec.

I agree, Debra just doesn't do it for me either.

She's not unattractive, but I don't find her particularly attractive either.

I saw this reimagining of the Dexter opening credits the other day and enjoyed it quite a bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9adZ0HRuo4

I can deal with the goofy eye spacing and weird nose, but Debra's strokemouth just kills it for me. She talks out of half her mouth 99% of the time, and it drives me INSANE.

I like the reimagined Dexter intro, though anyone who isn't very familiar with the show wouldn't understand 95% of the references.

Debra just looks like a teenage east German boy... not working for me. I like some curves.

That's pretty much how I feel about her too. I wasn't really a fan of her in the first season, but to be honest she's kind of grown on me. I actually enjoyed her role in the 5th season.

I don't dislike her character, just don't find her attractive. About the only major character I've not liked has been Dexter's wife and that's because it always felt like the writers were constantly having her say and do things the character they created wouldn't.

I KNEW I wasn't imagining things. A Google search does indeed suggest that she has Bells Palsy. It still drives me batshit crazy.

After the first episode, I'm very intrigued with where the rest of this season is going to go. I'm hoping it reverts to some of the earlier, more gruesome Dexter moments, and it sure seems that way after the first new murder case.

Should have the chance to watch season 2 one of these weeks soon. Might even get to season 5 or 6 before the series finale hits DVD.

I just finished the new episode. Nice setup for the season.

This season almost seems like a parody of itself at this point. But at least it seems they are giving up on the notion of being a serious plot driven story and focusing more on the character driven dark humor.

Guess I'm in the tiny minority that actually liked Julia Stiles in S5. I hated how they shoehorned the ending of season 5 though. I always enjoy Michael C. Hall as Dexter but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to dig the storyline with Edward James Olmos and his student. The showrunners said there would not be a 'big bad' last season but the Johnny Lee Miller character was and they said no big bad this season as well. I'd like sort of a bad guy of the week or at most, bad guy over several episodes as I prefer a contained story. As much as I thought John Lithgow was spectacular even that story felt a bit padded at times when it had to fill a whole season. I guess I just prefer that Dexter takes a back seat to no one.

I love the fact that James Olmos from Battlestar Galactica is in this season. I have only watched the first episode but from what I saw it looked like he's playing a major part.

I must say that the twist of the season so far was really something unexpected. Writers get the credit for that one.

Dexter season 6 is getting some really sour feedback from critics and audiences alike.
The latest EW magazine opines that season 5 was 'weak' and Season 6 is 'weaker.'
The complaints are being fired mostly at the DDK storyline.
I'm a from-day-1 'Dexter' fan as I followed Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under to this and I believe he never disappoints. I would have ranked it as my favourite show until this season (though it is by no means 'bad' nor do I wish to stop watching it).
In addition to being the star of Dexter, Hall, as you see in the credits is an executive producer (EP) of the show. I think he needs to step in and step it up for season 7 -8.

I liked the DDK twist, now I want to see what they are going to do with it.

  19. Gonna have a Dexter Marathon with the Roommate and play a Drinking game.

I'm only on Season 5, but Roomie is through 6 I believe. We may start from season 1.
