Customer Service

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by issmmm, Aug 15, 2011.

  1. Just some general observations:

I worked stereotypical customer service for 13 years. I still work in customer service - I'm a sales assistant and do lots of stuff for my boss to make our customers happy. I'm good at it. I was good at it when I was working in the grocery business and regular customers loved me. Like BG said, it's a job that is compatible with my personality. Shit pay, working nights, weekends, and holidays, and the never ending micro-management (I had to account for literally every minute I was at work at my last retail job) ended up driving me out of the industry and into what I'm doing now. I've never been happier.

I'm finding myself more and more turned off with the standards of customer service nowadays, even though I know the behind the scenes pitfalls. I avoid establishments that I know have poor service. I just don't have the patience for it anymore.

    issmmm Getting Tilted

It has been some time now since I first got here and posted this among my first threads. Hopefully I have at least somewhat correted the impression I made in this one with the threads and posts I've made since. I didn't come back to this thread to rehash an old argument. I have learned in the time I've been here that when new people join and post, if they are not absolutley on point, they can expet to be called out.

I have written and deleted a bunch of stuff in this very post.
I guess I just wanted to look back
