Coverage of mass shootings/bombings/terrorist activity.

    I'd imagine they don't want coverage when they get the crazies who come out of the wood work.
    When there are mouth breathers telling the Newtown parents that their kids weren't actually killed or didn't exist at all.

    I was happy to see the positive coverage of the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing.
    There were some great stories about the people and how they overcame the experience.

    Here is a good article about the negative effects of focusing the story on the killer.

    Mass murderers want glory and fame. Somehow, we need to stop giving it to them.

    Embedded in that article is this video. It's something I have posted before when we were discussing yet another of these mass shootings.

    THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT! The entire article is focused on the students. What they did, how they reacted, how the community was affected. The killer's name isn't even mentioned. He's not a celebrity, he's a nobody. The students who worked together to keep this from being much worse are going to be remembered, not the man that attacked them.
