I'm going to barbecue several racks of ribs for my wife and I (sam's club pack, you get three racks) got my hardwood charcoal and hardwood chunks all ready. we do have about 4-5 inches of new snow so that's going to be annoying while traipsing in and out. my two girls will probably not eat much in the way of ribs.

  3. Growing up it was always ham, scalloped potatoes, some sort of vegetable and some sort of fruit salad.

This year I'm going to be by myself, and after I get my kitchen properly cleaned so I can maneuver in it I'm going to fix myself up a New York Strip steak with mashed potatoes, corn, and a glass of wine.

We broke tradition last night. Instead of Chinese takeout, we had lasagna, salad, and rolls. No complaints here. Today was a lot of bacon and leftover lasagna. :)

AND CONTAINERS FULL OF GRANDMA COOKIES. d,ksfbsdjf yum

Hope you had a good Christmas, Zen and shared it with friends.

Alistair and I shared Christmas with each other.. alone. Alistair made us a wonderful meal of lamb chops, baked potatoes and stir fried leeks and courgettes.

The proper Christmas dinner fare will be served tomorrow on Boxing Day when his son, daughter and daughter's boyfriend join us.

Glazed, baked gammon, roasted red peppers stuffed with goat cheese, brie and tomatoes and a generous helping of bubble and squeak. Wine to wash it all down.

We had the tradional ham, potato salad, cornbread.
My oldest drove across the country from San Diego to PA, missing all those awful storms.

It was a really nice day yesterday, we also facetime my other two kids after dinner.

Really want to try lamb chops, had them only once before.

Even the meat eaters loved the Mushroom Wellington I made. Recipe here, since it's significantly adapted from the base recipe I used: Delicious Vegetarian Cooking

I have been sick over Christmas. But I still managed to pull off Christmas dinner. I did some brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, butternut squash and a roulade of Turkey breast. I also made a vegetarian wellington for my wife (thanks snowy).

Thank you. I appreciate that. This year, this period has been and will be one of the alonest in my life.

It was very good to be with them .. "The Three Fs" is what comes to my silly mind: Family, Food and Films. I'm still having flashbacks of magic moments with them. I ended up on the couch for the night and shared Boxing day with them too. I'll be joining them on 28th on a family visit to see The Hobbit.

And I am glad that your Christmas has been going well, too.

Best wishes to the both of you :)

My parents make ham for Christmas. This year they had ham on Christmas itself, but for our big family get-together with all the grand kids the Sunday before Christmas they had tri tip. My husband's family had a huge beef roast that seemed to be a cow's entire rib cage. I have no idea how they fit it in their oven.

My husband made me a quiche. He usually does on Christmas. Thy are always incredibly delicious. This one had mushrooms, onions, black olives, and sharp cheddar.
