If everyone could help staff out in trying to decide our future options here:

If you have a preference for one or the other, what is it you like or don't like?

Its been a little difficult to gauge what specific things are drawing folks one way or the other. If we had that information we might be able to keep looking for another alternative that combines the best of all worlds, or else have to see what can be the closest fit and go with that, even though it won't be perfect.

What's difficult about the icanhazaccesstocrappychat is that there is a ton of text when you first log in, I haven't seen any history of who was in or not in recently, and the backgrounds are really, really annoying. I find it rather user-unfriendly as it often won't sign me out when I close the window. It does, however, tell everyone that I'm an administrator, which makes me laugh. I'm okay with tiny chat, now that I've seen the alternatives.

I prefer the old one, the new one looks like it was made for those young whippersnappers going to Junior High or High School now - the kids that post Facebook updates in class on their fancy smartphones rather than listen to the teacher.

Agree with other posters about icanhaz's unfriendly, cluttered and overly busy user interface. I'm fine with the /prochatrooms option, though to this day I haven't been able to get my webcam to broadcast from in there. I think that's my problem, though.

I couldn't get my webcam to work in prochat using firefox, I ended up using chrome. However I prefer pro-chat to icanhaschat...just seems cleaner and more user friendly.

I take that back. prochat doesn't like chrome, it rocks w/ firefox

    I'm in prochat now!

Hmm, that would be "None of the Above" given my experience for the last three weeks.

    But that's my fault.

Once I'm back stateside and have time I will change it so that it is like the 4.0 version. You'll log onto TFP and click chat and it just opens with your username information.

In case you haven't noticed, the main CHAT icon now directs you back to our previously used chat software program (Prochat).

It has just occurred to me, (as I logged into chat and found lordeden) that who we say we are on chat may not be who we are! If that makes any sense? It allows you to log on as a guest........so you could use anybody's tfp name and pretend to be them! (Although in this case lordeden is online on tfp)

That will get you a vacation from TFP if the staff figures it out.

I wasn't meaning that was what I was doing, I was just saying. My first reaction to being asked for a chat user name was to type my normal chat name in rather than my tfp name, not intentionally, just through habit. I did however log on with my tfp name.

That would be fine. But impersonating someone else will get you (the "everyone" you, not the Innocentmiss you) in serious trouble here. We consider that a form of identity theft and take it pretty seriously.
