Can we go back to IRC now?

 

So... sorry to double post here but... Do we have a non-shit chatroom to use? One that people actually go into.

 

Does anyone remember the server that our IRC chatroom was on? I lost it when I switched over to linux.

 

Cyn would know.

In chat...NOBODY is there. I miss chat.

 

So I've been teetering to get the courage to introduce myself on chat - hesitating to knock, and the room has been empty. lol. at self

 

Last summer was so much fun in chat. It was a difficult time in my life, and the friends I made in chat REALLY pulled me through some hard shit.

 

I'm glad you got through it, cj2112 and as I make my first steps to become familiar with this place - at the text level - I am not surprised.
My small, but worldwide group of Skype buddies share a lot of fun, during which time we provide and receive support and learning, often in entirely unexpected directions. Conference calls.

Hmmm ... tilted Skype conference calls? Unlike chatrooms, which which I've never been in, but have heard can be empty; there, as it were, to pop in and find people there or not there, Skype needs a definite 'start' host, who 'pulls' people in. Once a call stops and there is nobody remaining on-line to take over the role of host, then the call is terminated.
One may have more than one free account ... so people who are already Skype members cold open an account specifically for Tilted Forum use.

The service is free, including conference calls.
One to one video calling is free, but conference video calling requires a paid account for each member.

As I type away, it sounds more and more what is NOT being looked for here. But then, I'm too new to be sure of that, so I'll let it stay.

 

We're not going to do Skype conference calls. If individuals want to do that, it's fine, but that's not what we're going to resort to doing. The jury is still out on icanhazchat. We've got our own videochat software that's still available. I was in there Thursday night. Let me know if you need the link.

Uh... nobody's there in obnxious icanhazchat. It was lonely. So I left.

Not going to register to use that, and this username is taken. Another vote for the IRC option here. Webcams are interesting but I care more about the talking part personally.
