Well you have to consider the view here. You're kissing your girl, you look down, and it's like aiming through a gun's sights.

 

I think Desmond Morris answered this pretty well in the Naked Ape. For female primates with primarily quadrupedal locomotion, it's the buttocks and vulva that swell and turn bright when sexually receptive. Given that humans have an upright carriage, this type of signalling would be less effective than something carried on the chest. And since female humans are, technically anyway, always sexually receptive, breasts serve this function.

I don't know. I just really like boobies. Big, small, real, fake. Doesn't matter.

No. They're getting boob jobs because their parents have more money than sense and teenage girls will, unless managed carefully, will turn into spoiled bitches.

More for me, man. Actually, there is a place (two of them, actually, no joke, but I am only going to make a case for one) for titfakery (or mammoplasty, if you prefer): When the events of life lead to a significant reduction in the size and firmness of the bosom, then in some cases a boob job is a pretty good thing. Examples: One of my best friend's moms had a double mastectomy a 20 years back. She had them reconstructed and, insofar as one looks a a good friend's mom's chest, she fills out a dress nicely. Another: The missus nursed two kids, then lost half her body weight through diet and exercise. I can tell you that the shape of the breast that came to mind was "Spaniel ears". This down from a double D. She suggested a boob job. I agreed, but every step of the way let her know that I would love her whether or not she had one. You know what? It made her happy. And she's got a really nice (if not so large as before) set now.

In general, I would say that a woman who's breasts shrink radically may find herself feeling like less of a woman or at the very least less attractive. Medical technology can fix that. I say go for it. (Little bit more stem cell research, and I think you may find that you won't be able to tell any more....)

(I've also had two friends that went the other way and had them reduced. That makes me weep. I know, it ain't my back. Nevertheless.)

Because it's a medical procedure whose price, availability and social acceptability have combined to make it an easy answer to some perceived problems. It's a number that's going to only go up for at least a generation, just like nose jobs. A generation from now, it will tattoo removal.

As I now mark it, you won't date Asians, African-American women or women with fake boobs, regardless of the reasoning behind getting them.

 

I suppose I'm not as opposed to the idea of a prosthetic boob procedure in the event that a woman lost a breast due to disease. But still, it's done because they aren't able to accept how they view themselves or how others view them. In other words, it's done for superficial reasons. And that would be due to the fact that we live in a very shallow society.

 

As demonstrated by your own personal rejection of any woman with a boob job*. You prefer only non-Asian, non-African American women with natural breasts, and you won't date someone who falls into one of those catagories. Which makes you pretty much as shallow as the women getting boob jobs. You're making decisions on how women look, not who they actually are.

*with an exception to "loss by disease".

i look at it this way, if she has fake boobs, then ok. in 30 years when other womens are sagging and hers arent, then good for her. fake boobs or not, i still love boobs

It is funny how the utilitarian nature of breasts, which has only made a brief appearance in this thread, is overlooked so blatantly. I always believed that women’s breasts, in our desperate patriarchy, have been deliberately over-sexualized, to keep the woman in the subordinate role of object/parts. By keeping the collective focus on proportions, we can easily size her up, judge her and keep her unstable and wondering where she stands amidst the universe - all knowing, full well, that she and her sexual power have always stood at its core.
