My daughter collects hummingbirds...so I am always finding pictures for her. The tiny Bee Hummingbird is amazing...[IMG][IMG]

She(?) was sunning herself for quite some time and didn’t seem bothered by my impromptu photoshoot at all.

It is too dark for photos. But there are birds outside my window for the first time in a long time.

I fear something has happened to Mr. Cardinal.
Mrs. Cardinal has been at our feeder daily but he hasn't been around for a month or more.
It's been a rough winter up here.:(

That is rough—hoping for the best for him!

I had a crazy experience earlier this year rescuing this guy from the middle of a country road early last spring.

He evidently hadn’t been hit but was clearly in shock and didn’t move when I approached him. I was able to bring him to a local rehabber, who checked him out, giving him some time to rest and recuperate before releasing him on her property.

I was sad he didn’t have the chance to be released in his home habitat (about 60mi from the rehabber) and hope he wasn’t leaving a mate behind, or if he did, that she’d be okay too.

I may not have children but I sure do love wild birds.

    He's beautiful!
We occasionally have a chickadee fly into our sliding door, and they land stunned in the snow.
Last week my wife saved one by picking it up, letting it re-orient and getting it back on a low tree branch. It flew away 10 minutes later.
