True, the 10th Doctor turned his sex-ay quotient waaay down in Broadchurch (too much falling down/blacking out). I sort of hope he has a different storyline in the new US show (which of course, won't be called Broadchurch).

I'm so blah about UK, Australian, or New Zealander shows turned Americanized. I can't think of a single one that I liked better than the original.

    Same here.
I watch very little "live TV" in the first place, 90% of what I watch is on Netflix with an occasional Blu-Ray or DVD. Most of the shows I watch are done with their network run or at least 2-3+ seasons ahead of whatever point I am seeing.

And speaking of David Tennant, he is my second favourite Doctor behind Tom Baker. Jon Pertwee would be a very close third.

Seriously, if you haven't checked out Brooklyn Nine-Nine yet, do! It won the Golden Globe for a reason, people. Andy Samberg shows a surprising amount of depth in his role as Jake Peralta, and the ensemble cast is fantastic. It's nice to have something to watch that really is laugh out loud funny.

Did I post Sleepy Hollow? I hated the season finale, but the rest of the episodes are pretty fun.

I'm enjoying Almost Human. I don't know if it counts as "new" since it's on season two or three, but I really like Arrow. A lot. And I'm watching Tomorrow People, more as something of a guilty pleasure, but having a nice time with it.

Helix.Helix.Helix.Helix.Helix.Helix. On SyFy in US. On Showcase in Canada, Channel 5 in UK. It's weird. After the 1st two episodes, I was unsure where it was going. Episode 3 blew my mind. I think we are going into eppy 6 on Friday. It's as good as BSG. Have never said that about another show since BSG. Compares in a general way to X-Files, Twin Peaks; it's a mystery/thriller/horror/sci-fi mix. Even when it's bad, it's good. For twisted minds only. Don't bother if fuzzy TV science annoys you.
Also, the people who make it (writers, in particular) are multi- ethnic/both male and female. Made in Montreal, cast is 90% CDN.
I do tend to endorse CDN stuff but only if like buttertarts and back bacon, they are worthy of such.

I'm definitely liking Helix the more I get into it.
The mystery is just eating me up. Grr!
Is Jeri Ryan's character really dead?

    Great question!
Why ARE they saving those heads?
Aaand, did you know that both she and Hatake are both over a hundred years old?
I love the WTF-ness of the show. It's fun, not depressing or heavy.

Yeah, those heads... lol, all I could think about was Futurama when they uncovered them. :D

As for their ages, no, I didn't realize that. Their eyes are both creepy and cool as hell.

Also, the theme music is just ... right... somehow for the show.

The music is a friggin' hoot...part of why I enjoy the show. Yeah, the eyes...what do they mean?
The Futurama head thing was intentional. I hope they renew it 'cause I look forward to it.

I stumbled across an article this morning saying that Amazon has green lighted a TV series based on Harry Bosch, an LA Homicide detective from the Michael Connelly books.

Apparently the pilot has been out for a little while, and got good enough response to be given the go ahead for an entire season. No word yet that I saw on a release date for the season, but you can check out the pilot on Amazon. The title is 'Bosch', and I thought it was pretty solid.

It has some decent actors in it too. A couple guys from The Wire (Lt. Daniels/Lance Reddick plays, surprise, a police big wig. Marlo Stanfield/Jamie Hector plays Bosch's partner.) are in it. The lead actor is Titus Welliver, who played in Argo, Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood, and has a ton of appearances in other major shows.

If you like detective shows or Michael Connelly it is worth a glance.

My wife is looking forward to the return of Under The Dome. I don't have high hopes. Most 'quirky' network TV series fall apart after two seasons; this will be the second season of UTD. Maybe the writers have a clear idea of where to take the series. We'll see.

Love the novel and haven't seen the series, hopefully it stays fairly close to that. I doubt the ending the will match very closely but I would prefer that type of thing personally. Network television has too many "happy endings".

    Does anybody else watch Grimm?
I know it's not a new show so, I thought it was funny that it took this long for them to explain how the Wesen know Nick is a Grimm.

    Did anyone watch True Detective?
Freaking brilliant show, I highly recommend it.

I watch Grimm. Seen them all except this last Friday's episode. Now looking forward to it more. Thanks. :)

Don't watch True Detective, but have heard great things.

True Detective is one of the best TV shows evar! And the ending...SO unexpected but satisfying!

I would be careful in binge-watching. It gets *deep*. Spouse and I would talk for hours about the show after watching the show. That is my litmus test of a great show--how much in-depth convo/thought it generates after viewing.
(Some shows are like fast food and that's OK but I don't want them too often.)
That said, Enjoy! any way you please.

Imma gonna try Fargo on FX. I really dug the film. The people involved in the TV show look good. It is different enough that it is worth a try. But I'm not going to write about it.
