Good plan. I think it might be my birthday present to myself!

Definitely get the Lorac Pro. You will not be disappointed!

On another note, I found (by chance) a really wonderful under eye corrector from Laura Mercier. I have a lot of resin my skin, naturally, and have awful discoloration under my eyes. The mauve/Rose corrector has been hiding it like a champ since I bought it. Sometimes I'll just use it alone if I'm not doing full face makeup, but they do recommend using a concealer over it. If you have combo skin, you will probably like the formula.

We tried the Bobbi Brown version, for kicks. And while it worked, if you looked close you could tell it was not sinking in to the skin and therefore would likely crease as the day went on. But a dryer skin type might find it to be just right.

Uuuunnnffff. My aunt takes me birthday shipping every year as a present. This year she was overly generous, including while we were at Sephora.

I got the NARS Orgasm/Laguna blush and bronzer duo which I'm obsessed with. I FINALLY got Naked 2 (thank goodness). Got the full size Cover FX mattifying primer, of which I just finished my sample tube. Finally, got a replacement Stila Stay All Day. Had to restrict myself so I didn't overstep her kindness, but I'm so happy.

I find this fascinating and would love to hear your reactions.

...especially the, um, results from the US-based photoshop artist.

I'm just concerned at the large amount of super shitty photoshop. Did they get 15 year olds to edit this?

It was interesting to see the different choices made. My mom and I talked a bit about the application of makeup when she was here visiting. You have to know what works with your face; what's clear to me in the video is that these photoshop people apparently did not really know what worked with the face they were editing. Makeup looks great when you know what works for you and you're comfortable wearing it. I leave the house these days wearing lip colors other people might balk at (like NYX's Addis Ababa matte lip cream--it's fuschia), but I pair them with a nude eye and they go with my coloring (which I am fortunate in).

And @GeneticShift, Foxy is one of my all-time favorite eyeshadows. It's my new hey-I'm-awake go-to since I bought Naked Basics a few weeks back. My in-laws got me a $50 giftcard for Ulta...here I come, Full Exposure! My husband is going to be me the Lorac Pro. I feel a little spoiled, but I figure if I'm going to spend money on something, it should be eyeshadows with serious pigment.

I think I know a thing or two about bright lipstick, considering Addis Ababa and Herione are my two favorites that I own... ;)

I agree. Some of it was awful. Especially USA.

    SERIOUSLY.

...this gives me confidence, really. I mean, graphic artists doing work that shitty are actually getting paid for what they do? What the fuck is wrong with people?

I have no idea. And I hope they didn't get paid. I certainly wouldn't have paid for that work. Maybe we just have higher standards?

    Clarisonic.

Have one? Don't have one? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Let's hear it.

I've tried it. It was too much for my skin.

What happened, exactly? Were you able to return it?

I have a Clarisonic and I love it, but don't find that it makes any difference (helping OR hurting) my skin. I use a delicate brush, and I go through periods of using it nearly daily for months and then forget to recharge it for 6 months or so.. Oops.

For makeup removal, though, it's the bomb. I did find my akin a bit smoother when I used a Juice Beauty cleanser with the Clarisonic consistently, but it didn't do anything for my actual breakouts (which seem to be hormonal).

I used my MIL's to try it out. It aggravated my sensitive spot, so it was a no go for me.

I know Sephora has a pretty lenient return when it comes to them, so I don't see returning one being an issue.

I would really like to try one, though I have read from multiple sources it works best once or twice a week mixed in with a regular skincare routine.

I just got one. So far I'm liking it. It is great for makeup removal. And maybe a great prep for serums and creams to work better?

It does not stay charged long enough though. Only complaint so far.

Double points, gift card, and NYX on 40% off...I'm planning on a haul.
