all of those people are fools for emulating those terrible, harmful things.
    what are they thinking?

I like how we talk all noble in this thread and then later all our petty bullshit comes back out full force.

It's a good thing we pulled our pants up before we jumped the shark....

This completely ignores social evolution. Cell phones were for bankers and yuppies, pagers for drug dealers, and anyone that put a bandanna on was a gangster, a bicker, or a hippy. Things change. Not every one that wears a big black trench coat is a member of the SS or about to shoot up a high school. Hell, by that line of thinking every NASCAR driver out there has a trunk full of booze they are smuggling across the state.

Dressing "gangsta" is not about emulating gang bangers anymore. It's about emulating favorite artists. the bench mark has changed. I will however, fall 100% in your camp on the last line of this paragraph.

Once more, with you 100% on this one.

Here is my noble take on this issue.
I don't think you can attribute moral significance to someone's choice of clothing.
Particularly a kid's choice of clothing.
And we are talking about kids here because by far most of the people who are conforming to this fashion are young men under the age of 25.
I am assuming they grow out of it.

The initial issue was whether the pants should be illegal because they reveal people's asses, not because of their societal implications.
I don't think many people take it that far and to do so seems both deliberate and silly.
Thus that is what my humorous comments were trying to illuminate.

All "saggers" are as much gangsta as all "yoga-panters" are yoginis.

But this is AMERICA! Bare ass are a social implication! Can't have bare buttocks all over the place! I mean, people might actually forget nudity is baaaaaaaaaaaad! I mean, today it's bare buttocks, but just you watch, it will lead to less and less clothing and next thing you know, people will be walking around buck naked and GOD SHALL STRIKE US DOWN FOR WANTON WAYS AND WE AS A NATION SHALL BURN IN A LAKE OF FIRE FOR ALL ETERNITY PRAISE JESUS!

Hum. A bit to much? :)

So, I guess what I'm getting from this, is that the majority here see absolutely no problem with our future leaders walking around looking like gang-banger douche-bags, thinking they're emulating a rock star?

It's okay for them to revel in their ignorance and it's okay to not care. Because it's fashion?

Congress and the Senate now make much more sense. It's okay for them to be disillusioned, greedy liars and thieves. They don't know any better, they're just emulating rock stars! But it's okay, it's the fashion of the day.

All hail Fashion, bow down to your leader and dismiss all logic. Quickly, to the run-way!

If that's how you view the Marines, yes. Of course you have to over look the whole genocide issues with the Nazi.

A lot of men in suits are scumbags, but no Genocide. Well, none that we know of yet.

    Pardon me?

    This is just one example.

But, regardless, it's not the clothes that make the man, baggy pants or otherwise.

What the hell are you talking about? Is congress full of gangbanger-emulating baggy-pantsers? Dude, you're nuts.

I don't care what "future leaders" wear. Maybe in the future, when they're leading something. By then, they'll probably dress more like the current leaders, who, despite dressing completely respectably, tend towards corruption and hypocrisy. I dressed like a jackass when I was a teenager. I dress less like a jackass now. My fashion choices had nothing to do with my intelligence, moral affiliations or integrity.

You're the absolute last person in this thread who ought to be calling out motherfuckers on their logical abilities. Your whole presence in this thread has been one long-winded, logically perplexing attempt to rationalize your dislike for people who wear their pants funny.

I was just following your lead. Baggy-pantsed folks haven't committed genocide either.[/quote]

That's only because they were saying "those dicks in the togas and olive leaf crowns looked like jackasses".
