Women are capable of being visually stimulated by porn. This is just my own experience. We are taught not to look. I remember the first time I was exposed to porn sites on the internet (which was only a couple years ago). A male friend showed me and I was nervous that it even showed up on my computer. I felt so guilty for even looking. It didn't feel like this is something a nice girl should do. We are also taught that men are more into visual stimuli, but I think that's a question of nurture and not nature. We are taught to fit a certain mould. It is tough to see that you don't have to fit the mould. I also think there are a bunch of interwoven factors that would be much too long to post.
When I watch it, I like it and I probably like it as much as any dude. Obviously we all have our preferences.
Lately I have been chatting about porn to some close girlfriends and some have shared with me they do watch it and enjoy watching. Some, I have made a small introduction . Teehee

Women do like porn, I know this first hand BUT there still seems to be an innate difference between the sexes and such material. Lets take things like free cam sites. You have basically men watching women, and gay men watching men, with only a few women watching. Men basically beg women to watch them jerk off. If women liked looking at dicks as much as men liked looking at boobs, the world would be a happier place.

 

That's not evidence of innate differences. The amount of dick-looking a person requires has more to do with their life experience than their gender.

I'd also like to see faces along with the rest of the body, seeing somebody enjoy the sex makes it sexier.

People just don't sound like that.

I only picked the most recent studies I could find (mind you with a casual search). Perhaps it is due to "life experience" but really thats up to you to show, not proclaim.

 

I can't tell what the first is really measuring, but they all seem to be looking at behavioral responses of adults. Adults who have been surrounded by society's gender messaging since birth. They don't actually support your contention that men and women have different *innate* responses to pornography because there's no way to adjust for the effects of culture if all the people you're testing come the same cultural experiences.

In other words, assuming the abstracts of those papers are accurate, those aren't the papers you think they are and they don't support your notion of gender-based innate responses to dick pics.

But I will amend my previous claim: The amount of dick-looking a person requires is dependent on whether they like looking at dick, and that once sexual preference is factored into the equation, there is no evidence that differences in dick-looking propensity between men and women are innate.

 

From the last study. You can proclaim what you like but personally, with the very narrow views expressed on TFP in its current form, I think we have the "my kink is everyone's kink" problem here. Maybe you and Snowy here really like porn, and of the visual variety. Thats great, but that doesn't mean that "women" like visual porn as much as men any more than a man who doesn't like porn means men don't like porn. Populations are different obviously than individuals.

 

I think you have a "science supports my perspective regardless of what science actually says" problem. You have yet to present any evidence that differences in porn viewing habits between men and women are innate. No one is saying there aren't differences in the aggregate. The dispute is over whether those differences are due to nature or nurture.

I agree in general. an extended string of close-ups can be pretty dull if it is a substitute for any other kind of more imaginative work. On the other hand, if the scene leading up to it has been worthwhile, or I find the woman whose junk is being close-uped-upon to have some kind of unique kind of attraction, i can find it a bit more erotic.
