    i need a solid work-out plan.

the gym is waay too far away and i'm going for hi-rep, bodyweight only performance. i'm 6'flat and i weigh 150 lbs. cardio is not an issue (running is a small passion of mine). should i just do the 4 core workouts using nothing but bodyweight as often as possible?

Most of these can be highly effective. Pick the ones you like and try to work in every single muscle group. As with most beginner programs, I'd advise you to follow the program 3 times a week (one exercise pr muscle group each time) and depending on the exercise load (how hard it strains your body), do from 3-5 sets pr exercise. Bodyweight workouts are different, and should be treated as such. Make sure you're good and fatigued at the end and get plenty of rest, proteins and healthy fat.

    Have fun with it.

I'd look up Convict Conditioning, its pretty wild and works you into doing some incredible things with nothing but bodyweight. The book is pretty expensive if you order it, but I've found it pretty cheap locally or secondhand and there are always other ways to get a copy to see if you like it.

I'm definitely not ready for the Zombie Apocalypse. My cardio is low. I guess I could brain a few before they weigh me down though.

The only real life situation my lifting has made me better at, is moving furniture, but I still enjoy it. When I was younger, and lighter, I did love gymnastics/tumbling. That's some good, no weights exercise. Tough too.

If you have access to a park you can probably find a chin up bar, or jungle gym, and a place to do pushups, and some running. When I didn't have a gym or weights, I did lots of pushups, chinups, and rode a bike everywhere.

to follow up on this part, i'm not going to be getting much rest (which is fine) but what kind of non-perishable foods would you recommend for good fats/proteins? my diet is limited to what the mess hall serves and what i can order online and keep in a fridge/snack drawer

I love these for after workout snacks when I'm in a rush between classes. I have a group that buys in huge bulk together which makes them even more affordable.

See that post below me. Those actually look pretty damn good, "stats" wise. Good or not though, it gets the gist. Nuts in particular is a long-time favourite snack for athletes. I'd recommend peanuts, it contains healthy fat and good amounts of protein.

Other than that, I'd say your best bet is to get a protein bucket and / or a gainer bucket. Gainers contain lots of carbs (and around 20% protein, give or take) and can make you gain weight quite a bit easier. They also contain respectable amounts of protein for building. These buckets don't expire for a year or more, so I'm guessing that's good enough.

I'm assuming you're "serving time" in the military somewhere; when I was in the army the mess hall actually served pretty healthy foods, and I can't imagine the difference is too vast across countries regarding this.

Just finishing up round one of P90x (Doubles). Net weight loss 16 pounds, with the addition of muscle. Looking forward to round two!

You're not being banned as a spammer because I'm being nice. But signing up and posting only to offer your services as a coach makes you look a whole lot like a spammer. You could at least have the common courtesy to introduce yourself to everyone first. And for the record, we can still decide you're a spammer, depending on your response, if any.

Interesting. Not sure what he hoped to get out of that one though; there's a very limited amount of members and far fewer who actually has any interest in reading this topic.

We've been around 90 days and have a little over 1000 members. I see 88 posts before the spammer responding on topic to your thread. I think there's been a lot of interest, but as the thread creator, it's up to you to hold people's interest. If you want more from this thread, then why don't you see what peeked folks' interest and go from there?

I did P90X doubles earlier this year. It's legit.

Please don't think that I disagree. My only bone to pick with bryan.fwb is that he solicited his services as a coach, not with the P90X program.

Of course, I totally understand and agree. I just happen to have personal experience with the program (the diet, actually, I think is better than the exercise regimen).

Oh; I didn't mean it like that. I too think the forum has grown rapidly since it's rebirth, and I'm very happy with the amount of interest in this thread. However, statistically speaking there are far better places to advertise; a beginner's workout forum for example. Or Craig's List, or whatever. It surprised me, is all.

Not dissing TFP; I like this place.

All right, so I'm going to do this, starting this week. Today, I'm going out to get some more hemp protein (daily dose) and I'm going to try pea or pea/rice protein (post-workout). I would normally use soy or a soy blend (soy, rice, pea) as a vegetarian source of protein, but since my soy intake is already daily, I don't want to overdo it.

So the way it's looking: I'm doing some kind of blend of pilates/yoga/aerobics---more or less a blend of bodyweight resistance training and cardio. I'm going to start with 3 days per week and then later see how I can mesh yoga with high-intensity stuff for up to 5 days per week.

so instead of serving breakfast here, they set out giant metal bowls full of packaged stuff that is supposed to be an adequate substitute. yesterday they had almonds, so i took a fuck ton. i'm not sure about the protein content of almonds but how soon/late should i wait after a workout to eat my nutty protein?

Almonds make a great snack. Eat a handful of them between meals---i.e, has it been 3 hours since you've eaten something? Have some almonds if you aren't planning to eat a meal. Don't go more than 3 hours without calories of some kind.

Apparently, no one in my neighbourhood carries pure pea protein or a rice/pea mix that isn't an overpriced designer product with unnecessary ingredients. So I went with a sprouted brown rice protein powder. It was reasonably priced and didn't have any extra crap in it.
