Any watch people here? Any non-watch people that like giving their opinion anyway?

I just looked at that picture zoomed in for the first time. That guy's wrist is very small compared to mine. Just for you I just went and measured my wrist just now. :D It's a smidge over 9" around, and my forearm is almost 16" around (my favorite uncle called me "Popeye" growing up :p ). I honestly can't say what's "normal" for a guy's wrist, but I guess you could measure yours for comparison. Also for information purposes, for about half the watches I tried on Sat, I would've needed to order a longer band for. The rest I was always at the end of the strap.

I do agree that Hamilton looks goofy on the wrist in the Amazon pic. But just like I look fine in size 13 shoes and my 4yr old nephew would look goofy in them, I think the watch fits me where it doesn't that guy.

Jesus Borla your wrist is bigger around than the largest part of my forearm, you must be built like a brick shithouse. Are you sure you don't want to just pick a nice wall clock and glue a belt to the back?

HAHA!! I was trying to get across that, while I carry too much extra weight to be ripped, I'm a pretty big guy (wear a size 54 or 56 suit jacket depending on the cut), thus the watch actually fit me. I figured that was the best way to do so. :p

I don't care to post many pics online, but here is one from last fall to give you an idea (hint, I'm NOT the cheerleader):

And this one is a couple years old, but I'm probably within 5lbs of my size there, and gives you what may be a familiar reference:

I like watches but I like them to be pretty simple.

This is the closest I could find online to my favourite watch.

This is the closest to the watch I was given for Christmas last year.

And this is what I just bought for myself when Apple gave me a new iPod Nano for free.

Oh I like that nano watch band. Which one is that one?

It's the Lunatik. I love it even though it is the modern equivalent to the digital calculator watch.

I haven't used it on a run yet but may do so tonight.

Not currently. Can one add apps to an iPod?

I wear a Black Citizen Ecodrive Skyhawk most of the time. Still trust my life to my $60 G-shock though.

The trend these days seems to be to purchase larger faced-watches. With your Build, I'd imagine you can get a fantastically large watch...something loaded with gadgets. And since "automatic movement" watches are larger, I'd think it's perfect for you. (As you can see, Idk what i'm talking about).

I have loads of watches. For "best" I have a Raymond Wiel that was an 18th Birthday present from my dad (and was worn every day through university, until I realised it was literally the most expensive thing I owned).

I have several watches by Fossil, and have never quite been satisfied with any one watch - I have generally worn one for a month and rotated.

Last year, to celebrate getting a new job, I bought myself this:

and I've not switched for all that time. It updates by radio every night, handles DST and calendar jumps on its own, and goes with everything, formal or informal.

If I was doing it again, I'd trade up a couple of models for the solar powered one, but I'm still totally happy with my Casio.

I appreciate all the input. I talked to my family (I mentioned earlier I might be getting some Amazon gift cards as a gift later this month) and they are doing something different for a gift, so I went ahead and just ordered my watch. It should arrive tomorrow (Yay for Amazon's free shipping!).

    I went with this one:

Well, the watch arrived. But the minute hand is loose.

However, Amazon's customer service is awesome enough that, in less than 5 minutes, I had confirmation the replacement will be here tomorrow.

I guess I can wait one more day.

That's a great looking watch! Nice and clean, just the way I like them.
