Antique and Obscure SciFi

We all know about Star Trek, Star Wars, and Babylon 5...
but what are your favorite obscure, old/antique, indy, or just plain off-the-wall science fiction shows and book series?

Have you come across anything good recently?

I recently found a show on YouTube. We recorded it off TV when I was a kid. It's called Earth Star Voyager. Turns out it has a bit of a cult following. The score is really very well done. It's odd how when I started watching it, the music was even more familiar to me than the story. It makes me wonder if some of the themes show up elsewhere. The composer has an impressive track record, Lalo Schifrin. Lalo Schifrin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Other favorites from my childhood:
Twilight Zone - creepy! It kept me up at night thinking.
Lost in Space - I was obsessed with this show when I was about 4
The Navigator - The first time I realized the issues with spaceflight and time
The Last Starfighter - oh man, I had a HUGE crush on Alex (Lance Guest)
Earth 2 - who doesn't love Tim Curry as a bad guy?
Somewhere in Time - romantic! As a preteen I was so in love with this one.
The Andromeda Strain - made me a major germ freak for about a month when I was 12.

I'm pretty excited about the prospect of a new revamp of Lost in Space. ‘Lost In Space’ Remake Picked Up To Series By Netflix | Deadline

Science-fiction is perhaps my favorite genre of television, and so I've explored a number of its lesser known titles. I liked Earth 2, but I haven't watched all of it. The Twilight Zone is a classic favorite, and I've also enjoyed the similar shows Black Mirror, Inside No. 9 (though it doesn't have any SF episodes, yet?), Métal Hurlant Chronicles, and The Outer Limits. If Netflix is set to produce a Lost in Space remake, it will probably fare better than 2004's The Robinsons: Lost in Space, whose unaired pilot you can now find on YouTube.

My favorite cult SF series that I now consider old are:

    All the Star Treks (1966-2005)
The Prisoner (1967-68, seminal in several genres)
Star Cops (1987, nice hard SF with a cheesy name)
Sliders (1995-00, the first 3 seasons are the most popular)
Space Island One (or Raumstation Unity, the far better German name, 1998)
    Cowboy Bebop (1998-99)
    MythQuest (2001, sort of SF)
    Odyssey 5 (2002-04)
    Planetes (2003-04)
    Battlestar Galactica (2003-09)
    ReGenesis (2005-08, super-hard SF)
