Many times the recommended solution to back injuries like Watt's is rest and rehab, with surgery only as a last resort. I don't have any in depth knowledge on his particular case, but my guess is that the decision to put off surgery was because there was a reasonable chance he'd heal without it. Now that they are running into a time crunch with the season coming the decision was made to go ahead with it?

Foster will be 30 before the season hits. That is a bad age for an NFL RB. The number of guys in the last 10-15 years that have been major contributors after that age is pretty small.

Johnson probably just wants to play another year or two. The Titans have basically no one at WR, so a big veteran may at least help MM develop some more.

At least that is my $.02 on the moves you mentioned. Probably worth what you paid for it. :p

I'll give you 2.5 out of three :D.

The local sports media hasn't said much about the timing of Watt's surgery, other than reporting that some fans are questioning it. An explanation would be nice (Gawd forbid should a local sportscaster or sports writer question the actions of Watt ).

Foster is a classic example of how most RBs have maybe five productive years in the NFL. If Foster stays healthy he could be a receiving threat; he was starting to build some decent receiving stats with the Texans before injuries caught up with him.

Johnson went to the Colts last season hoping to catch a ride to the SB or at least the POs. He has to know that the Titans are his last stop. I hope that he puts up some great numbers, even if he can no longer go all out on every play.

The Seahawks are an interesting team. They, being a young team with plenty of talent, could turn into a dynasty, which is what was predicted by many football experts a couple of years ago. OTOH they could implode and be so-so, which they've shown signs of doing. Yes, they've been extremely successful over the last four seasons, but they've also been disappointing after the back-to-back SB appearances. Raising expectations is one thing, continuing to meet them is something else.

The Texans performance was yo-yo, but Tom Savage was impressive.

    Is a QB controversy developing?
Probably not mainly because of what Osweiler is getting paid .

Yeah, yeah, it's only one preseason game :p.

Are we doing the picks again this year?? :)

@Borla setup a yahoo version last year.
I did it "manually" the year before that (and I didn't mind, kind of fun doing the stats & stories)
    I'm up for any method.

That can easily be set up again for this year. I'll make sure I have it going at least a week before the season starts. I'll probably post a separate thread for it once I do. Thanks for the reminder.

A bad habit of the Texans: Settling for FGs instead of scoring TDs.

The decision to go for the TD instead of the FG with 4th & goal from the three? four? yard line was fine with me, even though Osweiler threw a pick. It showed some balls by OB.

Signed up and ready to take on all takers... :D

I hope we get a nice sized group.
Thanks for the setup; I wouldn't have been able to do the manual version this year...too much going on.

Somebody point me in the right direction for the Yahoo group.

Is it a TFP group only, or a larger group? I ask because I'm comfortable making an idiot of myself with y'all ;), not so much with 'strangers.'

Group 20213. It is in the URL I posted above, but apparently if you aren't already in the group it won't let you get there. I thought it would.

@Borla can I get in on the fantasy football league?
Also are you going to set up the weekly league?

The weekly pick em league is set up. All the info is a few posts above.

Jetee is in charge of the fantasy league. But he's been MIA for a while. Right now he has it set to an offline draft, so I don't know what's going on with that.
