  2. Prospects for the Tigers took a big hit with VMart going under the knife this week. If Miggy is limited by his foot issues, the lineup looks rather anemic.

Knees are troublesome. I've been living with a shredded meniscus for over 25 years because, at least at that time, they told me the repair surgery would have to be redone every ten years or so.

Even if everything goes right, if you rush the rehab, you risk long term recurring problems and possible arthritis. The Tigers may be paying Victor Martinez for four years of part time service.

Will be interesting to see how both Chicago teams fare.

I hate it for Josh Hamilton. Im sure MLB will punish him to some extent but who knows how far they will go. My question is this, did he fail a random drug test or did he volunteer the information??

Speaking of which, Minnie Minoso passed away this morning. :(

  8. I remember watching him play for the Sox, back in the day. Good player, dangerous adversary. I recall that I liked him as a player, just not when he was hitting against the Tigers. RIP, Minnie.

I know some of his family, so I got to meet him once. Nice guy, very gracious. At 83-85 years old it was still very clear he was an athlete. He was in shorts and a polo shirt and you could tell he still had some old man strength to him.

Even the local sports media is having a hard time showing any enthusiasm over the Astros. Its seems that .500 is a worthy goal in 2015.

I'm starting to get excited about the season.

This is the first year in quite a while that I've been this optimistic about the Sox.

  12. I'm wishing the Tigers would just eat Nathan's contract and bid him a fond farewell. THEN I would get excited about their chances this season.

Matt Harvey and Jake DeGrom are awe inspiring... Almost glad I can't get around much. Gives me an excuse to shut the world out and watch them kids play.

Mets 6-3 in spite of manager's efforts at sabotage. And look at that old fat man pitch.:)

  19. Hmmmm... The last time the Tigers started out 9-1 was 1984. Time before that was 1968. Now, what do those two seasons have in common?

Ventura should have challenged that 9th inning play at second base... even if the challenge loses. He's got to demonstrate to his players that he's in it to win. His team played a hell of a ballgame and he appeared to just surrender. Ventura won't last the season managing like that.

The Astros have been very surprising this year.

I used the above ^ Captain Obvious comment as excuse to bump this thread to say this:

Thank you, TCU Horned Frogs, for keeping the texas a&m aggies out of the 2015 College World Series.
