I won't disagree that they are good quality (except the Desert Eagle, that's a concept that was better on the drawing board than in practice.) Most of the US police forces use Glock and Sig pistols, and the FBI went from Smith and Wesson to Sig to Glock. Given our extremely friendly diplomatic relationship with Israel, I don't think that politics plays any part in not using their guns. Most Western SWAT teams and special forces use either highly specialized versions of the AR platform or H&K guns for close quarters.

I'm not saying that IMI are bad, just that saying they're better than all others is subjective and that among high quality guns, they are only one of many. And if you're ever in my part of the US and want to go shooting, I'll be glad to take you. Maybe I'll be able to afford a full auto UZI by then

The Desert Eagle was designed in Michigan in the early '80s by an American mechanical engineer.

My XIX model in .357 Mag is a fine target piece that always surprises me with accuracy. It weighs as much as an M4, however.
