Anyone else into throwing knives?
Don't know why I enjoy them so much, but I do. I find a short practice session after a long day's work is very therapeutic.
Everyone here seems to be pretty big into guns. Just wondered if there was any love for the "finer points" of life. |

been throwing knives and spikes for about 10 years now...
have a few sets of throwers, plus about 25 throwing spikes that I made myseft out of 6", 8", and 12" galvanized nails. nothing better than that repeated 'thunk' into a target after a long day.

I've been wanting throwing knives for the longest time now. They work so much better than just throwing regular knifes.

learn with the cheapest set you can find... and read up on some techniques.. think the site http://www.throwzini.com has some good tips. You will destroy and/or lose your first sets of throwers. Once you're getting better and still liking it, invest in some more expensive and bigger throwers.. about 10-12".. set of three will run you anywhere from $50 to $150 depending on the type. $50-80 range is fine.
the little lightweight knives are great at 1 spin distance, maybe 1.5 spins, but beyond that they're too light to be reliable.
