Firing ranges in the Boston area?
I am a student and I recently transferred to a Boston university. Since I am living in my own apartment I can bring my pistol with me to use at the range. Slight problem is that I can't seem to find any firing ranges in the area. There are gun clubs, but they seem to be hassle to get to / get into. I live in the Waltham area right now, and I don't own a car, so it has to be someplace within 12 miles, 20 at most (That's 40 miles roundtrip... it would take me the better part of day just getting there and back). Otherwise I can't skate there. Or, it has to be reachable by public transportation.
I have searched on google, and in the yellow pages, but I can't seem to find anything. |
Try this and if you don't see one close to you contact one of the clubs.

I'm kinda new to this but let me bring up two points.
If you're from out of state I believe you need to get a MA license if you will be residing here. I quote this from the GOAL.org site: Quote:
Anyway just a couple points to keep in mind. |
Thanks for the warning
I haven't brought my pistol with me yet because of that. Left it with my parents.
Does the 10 round mag law in Boston apply to suburbs like Waltham? I don't have any high capacity mags, but after the assault weapons ban expires I would definitely like to get some. |
No, the special ban is only for the city of Boston itself, Waltham is ok.
By the way, welcome to the area. :) |

I am traveling from out of country to Boston area later this month.
Does anyone know a shooting range that rents a hand gun to travelers to use in the range ? I am a member of a shooting range near LAX. They rent guns there. Thanks. |

Wow... a long time has passed since this thread. Sadly I now have a resident license.
