HAhah.. I hope this was to be envisoned between two well-dressed men with Sherlock Holmes-esque pipes and pocket watches. Because I laughed out loud reading it with that mental image. Well played, will.

I've never been in a gun shop before, so I had to guess as to how it might be.

Between gun shop owners foisting Glocks on me claiming "This is my safety (while pointing to their trigger finger)" and the occasional borderline racist comments, you aren't missing out on much.

Gun shops come in all types. Some are real professional

(ex police-type shop clerk: What are you looking for?
[me]: .45ACP hollowpoints with a preference for maximum terminal ballistics
[him] hands me 185gr Corbon +P JHPs (from what i researched later, seemed like a pretty lethal round with 500 ft/lbs of energy)

Some are really..."archaic"

(Owner: You know the Philippines are only good for mail order brides)

You get all types.

Kir,

Did you just say "with a preference for maximum terminal ballistics?"

We can't be friends anymore.

P.S.

Apparently the mail-order brides from the Philippines aren't even that good. One of my brodawgs here is Filipino.

Heh. I actually said "stopping power." But you can get pooped on for using 'ignorant' (or should I say ignant) language.

Yea, my best friend from high school is Filipino. Funny thing, his current (and only girlfriend he's ever had), is a Filipino national. He's gonna have a lot of fun with immigration laws when he marries her.

Yeah, I feel bad for your friend: He needs to shop around more.

...

I think the biggest threat to gun rights in America is Hi-Point.
