Helped a little mouse today at the range.
Went to the range today. Test fired the trusty 1918 Nagant pistol (a $70 steal) and some other handguns. Finally 70s range weather. Though the mosquitos do come out at sunset so you have to pick up and split fast.
At the pistol range, I almost stepped on a little mouse. it seemed paralyzed. From the noise or whatever. so I bagged it in my tactical purse and took it home to feed. once its fed I plan to let it go to prosper and eat wiring in my car or to be food for some snake down the street. Apparently the cat was helping me with the mouse as well. All in all, a good Saturday. Now get out and shoot your guns before you forget how! |

Damn, is that a MP5/10? Pretty damn sweet.
Cute cat. You have a lot of pistols. Care to tell us what you have? I put a G19 on layaway today. I went to the range yesterday.....it was a 25 yard pistol/rifle range. Honestly, at those distances, shooting a pistol is much much more fun than shooting a rifle. |

Yes, the cat is called the magical kitty. It calms the kiddo down and brings lizards as offerings, which I return to their habitat promptly.
Today I test fired a Glock 26, 19black and 19green. The 19black had a 3.5 LB trigger put in so I was comparing it to the other new Glocks. I have many many glocks and at $380ea its hard to say no. Today I shot the Walther SP22 (TERRIBLE POS). The slim Walther PPS compact is on its side, not a great shot cause its so hard to grip but its good enough to carry. I shot it rapid, as I would under stress or holding a bottle of Jack in the left hand at a quickie mart. Two CZ 70 .32acp pistols, cold war stuff, $100 guns, neat, disposable and collectable. The Nagant 7.62 revolver (as seen in Enemy At the Gates with a political commissar shooting his doodz). Two Beretta 92F variants from CDNN for like $300 ea. Used/broken in, and they shoot tight little groups. Had to function check them to make sure they go bang. MP-5 9mm with 10mm looking mag. fun but not a challenge. like you said pistol shooting at 25yds is challenging and fun. I try not to have caffeine and relax when trying to shoot that far. Mostly though I do quick close tactical shots because in any situation I've been in, I'd be shooting as I run and wait for some SpecOps dood to rescue me. The pistols not seen here............ SIGs and more Glocks and other commie pistols. The SIGs are hole in one guns, perfect. But my Glock will be my hiking and outdoor gun so its the one I practise with. Got to sight in 3 new ARs real fast then headed home to take care of mouse. If you like your Glock, I highly recommend trying a 3.5lb trigger bar, loneWOLF or Brownells carry them. |

The store owner was selling me on the merits of every glocks 5.5lb trigger. Basically, learn on one glock, muscle memory's the same on every glock, hence why I opted to not try the 3.5lb trigger yet. Idk though. Now i'm tempted to try one with a 3.5lb trigger.

The Glock 17L and 34/35 have a trigger pull around 3.5# (depending on who's measuring it). I've found it to be useful. Practice that reset!
... Don't mice get all limp when they're confronted with life-threatening situations? Not a useful tactic by any means. ... I believe MP5 9mm mags were originally straight. Late '70s or so? They switched the curve sometime shortly after. They make a .32 ACP cylinder for the Nagant. Don't know how well it works, but it's cheaper ammo than the 7.65. The Walther SP22 pistol you have pictured there is indeed a POS. It's a clumsy paperweight at best. The PPS kinda like the Keltec PF9 with a fancy grip setup. I haven't shot a PPS yet but I'd imagine it's unpleasant. Last edited by Plan9; 10-24-2009 at 09:53 PM.. |

the little PPS bites the palm a bit but its better feeling than the PF9.
mice go limp? no kidding? little guy seems ok now, maybe you're right. Yeah, I have seen the nagant conversions, still debating. I suppose that store guy might have a point. I mean I usually pick up the gun of the guy I just teamkilled and keep fighting till I respawn |

the nagant will also chamber and fire .32 s+w longs, .32 s+w, and .32 HR magnums- the .32 longs can be had for about 12 bucks per 5- if you shop around, making it a helluva lot more affordable.....

Because putting a $300+ (add fed bucks) suppressor on a zillion year old POS toss gun with less zap-blooey than a Ruger Mk2 is a good way to spend your hard-earned cash. I sincerely hope you're using a potato instead of a real can. That would be a waste, bro. I'm crying inside a little right now.

Yeah, they're cute until they worm a hole into the bottom of a box of your favorite breakfast cereal and take a dump in it!
*grunt-scratch-grunt-scratch-belch-fart-cough* Bastards get a cat sent in on 'em. Just not my cat... he doesn't know what to do with a mouse. Only knows laser dot. |
