IP adresses, help?!

I have an account on a website and want to start another but there is a limit per person. I guess that means they know my IP and will stop me that way. Is there a way to change the IP of the computer I am at to get around this? what if I use a different computer in my house with the same connection? What if I register the account at a friends house and log in at my house, will they know?

Windows xp pro
56k dial up

None of those would get around an IP filter, but I imagine its even more sophisticated than that. I'd offer a better solution, but I'm curious.. whose security are you trying to circumvent? They've put that limitation there for a reason..

Its for a website that has photoshop contests. In order to enter you need to pay 'credits' (you start with a few) that you get from winning contests or buying with real cash. I was unaware of how important these were when I went to the area of the site that had slot machine and roulette scripts, I played and wound up with about 100 negative credits. So I owe them credits before I can use some to join a contest. I figured I would start a new account and stay from the casino. www.worth1000.com

If you don't have the Haxor skills
to mask your ip you don't need them.
you would get yourself in trouble

Hint: learn how and where to ask

Wicked, I'd love to help you -- that sites' user agreement strictly forbids that, however. I'd not want to put myself in a position of liability for helping you nor should you put yourself in a bad legal situation by circumventing their security AND the "User Agreement" you agreed to by creating an account.

You're on dial up. That means (at least here it does) that your IP is different each time you connect. Maybe it's different for ISP's there, but it wouldn't be a problem in NZ.

When I used to order repo's for the bank ~ in a former life ~ my favorite button to wear on casual day was, "I love checks that are in the mail."

Maybe you should consider simply PAYING YOUR DEBT and trying to work within the system, rather than simply work the system?

I know, I know, such a thought! I'm a lunatic, I know, I know...

LUNATIC!! I find this system unjust, I am a victim of its faults and should be compensated, well.

Then how do they know its me????

I've been thinking of switching ISP's (finally getting high speed). Would that change anything?

Oh, yeah. Tookie was a victim, too.

But it is nice to be recognized for some of my finer points. Thanks!

Ouch.

But seriously, dial-up providers should be a dynamic IP.

Although I'm considered a circumventer who's always trying to work the system etc, I'm also one who watches his ass to make sure such bad things don't happen to me. You have to realize that choices come with consequences and you have to be ready to accept them or challenge them further, not cower in fear.

I prefer the honesty policy. Then I can concentrate on watching other people's asses. Preferably the female varieties...
