bridging connections?
i got a slight idea of what it is from googling...you connect two computers directly with a lan cable....
soo here's my question, can you access the internet though a computer that you bridge a connection with??? how does that work and how would you do it?? 2ndly, if that is doable, say if the one computer is on a secure wireless network that i can't access it with computer number two, can i bridge a connection to computer number one to gain access and internet usage?

Yes, it's called "multi-homed routing" and it's built into Windows 98 SE and later through the Internet Connection Sharing system.
The machine that is going to be the "bridge" needs to have two networks cards, once that's setup it's pretty easy to configure. Need to know more about your systems though, how many NICs, what OS, etc.

the machine that i'm going to connect from is my work computer... it has a wireless card as well as the network port... and the computer i'm going to hook up to it with is my home computer... hp pavillion... both have pentium4s and a sturdy system the network itself requires a user login password when you start it up... and the wireless network is rather secure.... soo as long as that one computer is logged in, i shouldn't have trouble having the other one access the internet?? and how would mass file transfers work with this??? i plan on transfering alot of data between work laptops soon
