VPN setup
Our company just hired an outside sales rep. I need to setup a VPN for him to be able to access our network and our manufacturing system. Does anyone know where I should begin?
I have a 5Mbit cable connection and a Windows 2000 Server box to connect to. ccan someone point me in the right direction?

make sure your router support VPN access some of the older ones do not do it out of the box and you'll have to open ports instead of click a button.

what are you using for a router? are you going to have more sales people in the future that are outside of the office? if so, you might look at a pix 501 or similar. let me know how large your company is, how many machines, etc.
where I work, i have a Cisco Integrated Service Router, 3000 series, and a 3005-VPN Concentrator. A little high end for what we use, but I'm very protective of the internal network. As a rule, you want the VPN device at the edge of your network. You do not want a production server acting as a VPN server!!!
