Rear Projection TV problems
One of my roommates got a 56" RCA Projection TV for free. Apparently the person who had it before couldn't get any sound out of it so my roommate offered to take off his hands.
Well the night we got home it worked fine, even the sound was fine. Anyways now the tv won't display an image of any type anymore. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how much it would be to remedy it? |
Does it power on?

Is the video/coaxial securely fastened? If you have a digital camera, hook it up to one of the inputs and see if you can display images (you need to change TV/Video inputs). Look on the back cover and see how old the TV is. It's probably a few years old but not likely you have all three bulbs burn out the same time.

the main question is....does the bulb work? also, does it power on (the little LED turn on?) etc....
|
its a free tv, so say its 100 bones to fix, then hey its a big tv for a 100 bucks. not sure what is causing that issue, but usually you can get a service guy to give you a free estimate.

Sorry I haven't replied lately. The TV does turn and we've already tried the testing the inputs and such. Now all we are really doing is waiting for a repairman to stop by and take a look.
Thanks for the replies though. |
RCA projections are junk.......has the power supply been fixed yet....cause it will go soon enogh too! Like its been said though, free tv, repairs possibly up to 500$....is still a good deal for a 56" tv
