Dual Firefox?
I'm running XP pro, SP1 (I refuse to update to 2)
and I'm trying to set up a few limited accounts for my younger sibs. The facts that this computer is my baby, and there are things on here that I don't want them seeing//playing with//etc mean that simply having a normal limited account won't do the trick. Now, I have most of the elements of these accounts under control, I've been tweaking settings, plus using the excellent XSetupPro to limit access to drives and programs. where I'm running into problems is with the 'net access. I'd like them to be able to get to at least some of the internet, but I want to be able to completely control that access. The best solution I've seen so far is Kiosk browsing, and I've been reading through a decent tutorial on converting Firefox to kiosk mode. The problem is, I don't want these changes to be system wide, just for these specific users. What I want to know is if there is a way to set up two seperate functional incarnations of firefox side by side on my system. one for me to access, and one for them. Any ideas that use a different method (even non-kiosk) would be great, and as a last resort, I could probably use batch files to switch among the proper versions of browser.jar as we each log on, but I don't know if that would even work right.

you should be able to install firefox into separate folders, and installing it into your documents would prevent other users from using it and/or changing settings. I used to do it for games I played (when I couldn't install to program files on the family computer)

You could try setting up some profiles in firefox and see if that helps you out.
