Best ways to get G/F to check email?
I have a girlfriend at home today, she is off work. I work in a setting that makes calling her very difficult, but I can send her email. She RARELY uses the computer, only to play sims at that. What ways could I use to entice/remind her to check and reply to her email a couple times a day?

Im guessing your using outlook express? If so, just leave the program open, turn up the speakers and set it to check the mail every 10-15 minutes, it'll make a noise when mail has been recieved. Worked good when i was taking care of my cousin after his cancer treatments.

I use Mozilla Mail.. I could setup outlook, but I need a way to not leave anything open. I cant do the sound thing because she often is not inside and doesn't want to hear that anyway.

Hmm, write "check email" on a post it note and stick it on her forehead?:D

You can set her up on Yahoo email and also Yahoo Messenger.
Leave messenger on and it will tell you when you have a new e-mail with a pop-up :D Or you could just IM her with that or another IM client. |
Make it worth her while to check her email...write her some poetry, type "dirty" things to her, tell her how much you love her. Leave a few gifts in the inbox and she'll be eager to check the mail.

Yeah it's kinda hard if she's not buy the computer, but if she just looks at it you could make an image of wallpaper that says "Check your e-mail" then every time she saw it she'd know.
You could even do it with the screen saver. |
I like the idea of leaving poems, messages, goodies for her in the inbox. That is a good idea! Thanks!

My wife leaves mail open most of the time, so she just glances at it when she walks by, in case she didn't hear a message come in.
Or give her a watch with an alarm on it set to go off a few times a day. |
just tell her u are gonna send her something but dont tell her when. jus say this week or sometime soon, that might jump start her to look and it might stick
make it seem as if it's something she has to read, something cute, loving... she'll be so curious |
I think most of the ideas here are pretty good... especially the 'dirty words' & poems one... she'd be eager to check then... :)

just leave the damn computer on, keep outlook open, and have it check for e-mail. Instruct/train your girlfriend to check the mail every now and then. :)

a good one i did. leave her notes around the house in odd places. like inside the fridge, under the toilet lid in the shower once i even managed to get one on her thigh.... or just text message her... |
