Anyone here used Webtrends7?
I'm looking for any info or guidance on changing the hostname of the server running the webtrends stats engine.
I think I got all of the ini and config files denoting the hostname and were to look, but there's still some references to the old hostname, particularly in the Hostgroups section of the admin page. Any clues as to where to find it or edit it? The registry and those config files are littered with references and I'm happy to have gotten that far but want to do a good job without the re-install. I'm thinking they're in the MySQL database, but the MySQL structure is not like a default installation. Extra programs like MYSQLAdmin don't find the server and I can't find any configs for the username and password that webtrends uses to connect to it. Any links or advice for me folks? Thanks. |
Webtrends costs money, there are free programs out there that do the same thing for free.
might look at -- Webalizer: http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/ AWStats: http://awstats.sourceforge.net/ Sorry, no info on Webtrends. Just here offering alternatives. I use both AWStats and Webalizer at work, and am very happy with both. |
Yeah, I know of those, but we have the license and it's installed by the guy I replaced.
It wasn't left in a working condition though and we've changed the server's hostname to comply more with standards. |
Comply more with standards on server hostnames? Hmm. Maybe something I need to do, as all of my servers are named after moons of Saturn.

Well it's ok if you have about 5 servers.
We have 20 and we decided after merging with another company that naming them after dead rock stars wasn't helping. It makes more sense when you have \\site_role_01 |
