Help with practical joke and redirection
So, we are hiring this temp that has been working for us for about 6 months now. He likes University A and the boss likes University B. University A and University B are rivels.
I need to be able to redirect all his web requests to University B's web page. Help would be appreciated. |
If it's on XP, you can go to START --> RUN and type "gpedit.msc" to pull up the group policies. Then you can set the home page to whatever you want.
If you're wanting all of his request to go to a specific page, then you need to edit his HOSTS file. *.*.*.* (www.iajsodiansodi.edu) Just be careful please, as not knowing a lot about computers can certainly get you in trouble. Computer pranks usually aren't a good idea either. |
Yeah, but when it's the boss and owner of the company wanting to get it done you kind of do what you are asked. :)
BTW, I can't get the link to work. |
edit the hosts file so that all IPs to popular places like google.com, amazon.com go to rival university.

Sorry to be a threadjack here but this sounds like a good idea, my brother visits the stupidest sites and I should redirect them all to maddox or something. Hope all works out well, toying with rookies is always fun.

You could try and plant the Netbus.exe trojan on his computer. It is a harmless virus that allows you to completely control his computer from another one. You could open the university webpage whenever you wanted, type messages to him through it that appear as system messages.
