video card?
 

I have an old ati 8500 pro card and was wondering how much better (if at all) the pny vertigo gf fx5200 is.

2. 'video card?' as a subject is quite vague, I suggest putting a bit more thought into specificating thread subjects, especially when having a question.

I am sorry the question sounded so vague.
I read through Lasereth's mega video card sticky and yes it was very informative. But the older ati 8500 card was not mentioned so thats why I posted the question.
If you feel that this post needs to be merged or deleted thats not a problem your the boss, im just a newbe here trying to learn the ways.

What does the benchmark do? How do you understand the results of the test?

Generally, It will run your video cards through a series of tests and it will test it's performance.

depends on what you want to play. an fx5200 isn't going to be a very big upgrade from a 8500. i'd suggest at least a 9800 pro (or 9700 pro) if you want to upgrade, since newer generation cards are out, and the prices for these are dropping.
