MTV-ites prevail and G4Tech TV is now just G4
Flipped onto G4TechTV a few days ago to catch the Icons: Final Fantasy and, well, aparentally G4Tech TV has officially dropped the TechTV part of their name. I suppose the takeover is complete now, with the only TechTV shows remaining being The Screen Savers (which has completely been G4'd) and X-Play (which can be questioned in its status of "show" anyways ). And also somehow RobotWars is still on at times.
*sigh* final farewell TechTV...

That really sucks. I used to have TechTV on almost all day long before it had the soul sucked out of it by G4. I love video games, but why make a channel with nothing but video games?? They play the same few shows every couple of hours, there's no real point in watching that channel at all anymore.
Farewell TechTV- May your soul be reborn unto this earth under a new guise.

The absolute only credit I give G4 is for its Icons show. Everything else, like Arena, Filter (WTF is this show about?) and Cheat! I don't give a damn about.

Yea, I stopped watching this channel (except for select episodes of x-play for morgan webb, and i think we know why) as soon as G4 and TechTV merged. All it took was one episode of "G4TechTv.com" where they put on a theatrical account of sobbing over their computers 'dying' because of the next gen consoles coming out which led me to say "don't get this same hype every single time new consoles come out?" and then flip the channel because not only are the two chicks on that show extremely annoying they don't know a goddamn thing about computers and/or video games.

I know someone here has said this before, and I would like to reiterate it. G4TechT... whatever the fuck is trying to be less like Tech TV (and by that I mean television about technology) and more like Spike TV (and by that I mean explosions, car crashes, hot women, and the like). I'm not much of a gamer, and I say this as an objective, but how many programs can you really have about video games?

Oh, and they're idiots at G4 too... They had their obligatory football special TWO WEEKS after the Super Bowl (idiots). OK I can let that go, every network has some football special in January. But this coming weekend they're having a G4-Sports Special where they're at the X-Games. Now what the fuck does the X-Games have to do with video games?
The #1 thing I miss about TechTV is, well the technology. No more gadgets or electronic devices of cool. I miss Fresh Gear...

they're also doing a 'mock season' for the nhl and they just recently released their all-star rosters with a goalie from an eastern conference team on a western conference roster.

The Arena matches do look really interesting and competitive, however the announcer guys piss me off like no other, especially the pumped up guy who was rejected from an exercise machine infomercial.
Oh, and who at G4 thought it would be good to make these guys compete in DDR when they obvously aren't that good at it? They're not even funny to watch when they screw up! the ranting continues...
