All pics are saved as bitmaps, why? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hi all, I've had this problem before but I can't remember how to fix it. Whenever I try to save a pic, I can only save it as a bitmap instead of a jpg. Any ideas? XP Pro, sp2. Thanks for any help.

Seems like the clearing of your Internet cache and all other related actions fixes it if I remember correctly. Of course, I may not be remembering correctly, but I'm about 90% sure!

I doubt this is the reason, but I had a similar problem if I changed a color image to B&W instead of desaturating it.

Its a bug in IE so when the internet cache becomes full it will only save things as .bmp

Note To locate the Temporary Internet Files folder, click Options on the Tools menu, click the General tab, and then click Settings. The current location appears in the Settings dialog box.
Method 2
To work around the problem, click Tools, click Options, click the Advanced tab, clear the Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box, click View, and then click the Refresh button.
