Prog too big for memory
I downloaded this file, which is a dos file about 200 megs.
when i try to run it, the dos window comes up and gives an error "Program too big to fit in memory" how do i allocate more memory for dos for this to run? got winxp pro, 256mb pc2700 ram. 60 gig hd. |
not too sure there's much you can do except increase yr RAM. Your current 256MB RAM would be fully stretched to run the prog since you're also running XP in the background. Apart from increasing yr RAM, mayb try closing all applications and restart in DOS mode. Sorry can't help you much, any experts out there?

what kind of program is it? could you just boot up in dos and run it?
|
this is actually a game.
i tried running it from safe mode and got the same error. |
Its the planetside demo isn't it? Hahah. Get more ram.
|
no, it's gta4 actually.
i dont see the need for ram, i'm just trying to extract the files from download! i'm not trying to run the game here. |
