Someone using my internet?
I have a cable modem, living ina building. Out of nowhere today, zone alarm gave me a pop up that there was a new network detected. The problem is I can't remove it. It keeps saying you cannot remove active network. It shows me the ip, and the name of the network is "the Internet (2) and it's not soemthing I have seen before. I have been hearing of people stealing internet with the wireless routers, and I think I may be a victim. Please tell me how to get rid of this and protect myself. I have all of these spyware and like 15 viruses (what the fuck) out of nowhere. Not sure how all this happened, as I don't really download much stuff. I tried adware and norton, but some of the viruses norton cant even erase. I am really concerned.

What OS do you have???? XP, 2000, ETC.

If you have XP, then unplug your router. go to your network settings and enable a password for it. Also make sure that your XP firewall is also enabled. you will now have three firewalls up and your wireless connection is now password protected. Go back to your connection settings and delete "internet 2" Reconnect your router and connect to the internet. if this doesn't work, or you have a different OS than XP, make another post

If you are using a wireless router, read Mephisto's Guide on securing your internet connection.
