Trillian
For some reason trillain just wouldn't connect to my MSN account. Anyone else has that problem? i have the newest version (free 7.5) running on win xp pro
|
What error does it give when the connection fails?
|
Trillian has lots of problems.
|
i have that problem occasionally too.
what you should check is make sure messanger is turned off. cuz of XP's integrated approach ocasinioanlly it;'s possible for MSN to be running without the icon visible, thus preventing your Trillian from signing in... |
I have Trillian Pro and have no problems. Yes, get that cancer msn off your PC if you haven't done so already. Go to Start, then Run. Paste this in the box and hit OK.
Code:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove |
I've been using Trillian Pro with MSN, Yahoo, IRC, ICQ, and AOL for months.
No special tricks to make it work, however be sure you don't have Windows / MSN Messenger loaded on your PC. As well, make sure you logout of any web site that uses Passport. I've noticed that using your browser to login to another Hotmail or Passport enabled account will give Trillian problems. |
msn has been flaky lately from several of my computers and networks.. i put the blame on the internet or MSN side.

It has been flaky for me too. Make sure you have the last patch(I think its .74D). I had to remove the connection from MSN and then put it back and it worked fine.
|
It still doesn't work for some reason (after removing my MSN messenger) I think it might be because my MSN passport is connected to my window's account
|
did you check the status window for msn in trillian to see what error message you're getting?
|
Connection to msn fail...
|
I had that problem yesterday. One solution I heard was to delete all your MSN contacts and then reconnect, but just restarting Trillian worked fine for me.
