Windows Media Player woes
Whenever I try to stream a video file, it says "connecting" but never does. If I close media player, I have to go to task manager and end task, even though the Media Player window closes...wmplayer.exe doesn't close.
It's WM 9, WinXP. It plays everything fine when I access files locally, even the ones that lock up. Specifically, if the video is embedded in a page, then it not only never connects, but it crashes IE as well. Thoughts? |
I like BSPlayer for video viewing, I am almost positive it supports streaming media:

Thanks stazen, I'll give it a try! that winMediaPlayer9 is a complete waste and resource on my puter. I wish I could get rid of the thing altogether

hmm... how about a firewall blocking the connection?

you can remove it,
in add/remove programs, click on "add/remove windows components" button |
