Winamp Plugins
Which plugins do you all use?
Im all for functionality so i use winamp lite+DFX7...dont need all those video player plugins/modern skins etc etc skins used=nLog,nucleo-alienmind,ti_h20_eqilibrium are there better plugins than dfx? |
Back in the 2.x days I used a crossfading plugin and MilkDrop for visualizations. Now that they're standard in 5, I'm content with the defaults.

Milkdrop RULES.

SneakyAmp is really nice.
It allows you to type in commands to play any song in your music directory. For instance, if I type /play U2" any US song in my music directory will be added, and played. It has other command driven fuctions as well. Initially I used this plugin for Everquest (couldn't minimize out), but lately I use it to see if I have a song by trying to play it via command. It's very handy. |
I use NowPlaying to update a "recently played" list driven by a bit of PHP/MySQL: http://theravenel.mine.nu/nowplaying.php?action=view
I also have everything setup to run a shoutcast server so I can listen to my music at work, along with the Winamp Web Interface to let me control my music remotely. |
Currently I only use Audioscrobbler, but I think I'll look into some of the ones mentioned earlier

pacemaker for bumping up those useless pricks who insist on playing thier guitars in E flat. Up yours Corgan! Bah..
the best thing is that its SIMPLE. Its the very definition of unbloated. I think more recent versions request registration, but mine doesnt. |
Enhancer
Winamp Alarm Plugin Geiss several sound plugins (MPC,Monkey's Audio, etc) |
Wow SneakyAmp sounds awesome - thanks for the tip Jimellow. I think I will go grab that. I don't really use any plugins with the new version, when I had 2.91 I had a cd rip plugin that worked really well.
I need to look more into running a shoutcast server. How much bandwidth can that take up? |
