.DLL missing :(
 

you guys seem to always help me, so im in need of usm help yet again

while trying to play GTA3 on my computer i get a error that says this

"a require .DLL file, DINPUT8.DLL, was not found.

any ideas of how to fix this thanx for ya time

dinput8.dll is a component of DirectX 8 that does input (Joystick, etc.). I would think GTA3 comes with some version of DirectX that would be needed to play. I suspect that DirectX 8 would be forwards compatible with the most recent version of DirectX, whatever that is today. You can run dxdiag to get more info on your DirectX setup

can i jsut download a new version from sumwhere, if so where?

You can go to w*w.microsoft.com/directx and download the latest version. I believe the latest version is 9.0c.
