Easynet??

Where i work we host our site with a company called easynet, has anyone else had any experience with them?, they are charging us over £1000 for hosting which seems no better than what other companies charge £100 for (100mb 10 email adresses asp). They have us on a windows server so I cannot use any php - mysql functionality (although other companies seem to offer both ASP and PHP) and have told us that to tranfer us to a unix server will be another £150. I think this is extorionate but need to know if we truly are being screwed before I tell my boss or if I'm missing something obvious which justifies the high price tag

how much transfer are you getting? 1000 sounds awfully high. you can get a 100mb storage with unlimited email accounts including php, mysql on a linux server for just a few dollars a month.

check out http://www.webhostfreaks.com/ for some of the best prices and packages

Where do you host with them?
They are literally right across the road from us, 1 Brick Lane.

We have half a rack case over there for our clients and our own websites. I'll find out how much they charge us. Seems high.

We pay £436 for the rackspace and £200/month for bandwidth.

24/7 access to our rack. Good security and safety.

what do you mean rack space? you own the server and just leave it there?

Have found out that we are paying £250 for the hosting (still expensive but not extortion) but also have a separate bill of £1000 for rental, not sure what this is but think it now becomes an issue between my employer and the company

Yes we have several servers there. Imagine a room full of glass fronted fracks.
We rent the bottom half of one of them. I have a 24/7 access card to enter the building. We can put whatever we want in there as long as it fits.
