No, but am Unix proficient. I can try to help as best I can. A long time ago I had to pleasure of messing with AIX on an RS6000.

Thanks.
Well, I am semi-familar with AIX.... One of my roles is DNS Administration. Right now, we are running the OS enabled version of BIND on a RS6000. I need to disable that and install the Berkely standalone version on a test platform.... I am wondering if there is an easy way to mirror the config on our production DNS server to my dev platform and then compile.... That brings up another question, I will need a compiler correct?

well, you'll need a compiler for whatever your going to compile. so, something like gcc.
what version of AIX are you running on too? also, what version of BIND to you plan on running? 9.3.0, 9.2.4, 8.4.5 ?
