Run virus scan on thumb drive every time
Hey people smarter than I,
I am responsible for a student organizations computers and not all college students understand the effects of the files they download. Removable media infecting our computers has become a problem. We have antivirus software (Norton Professional 2003) but I was hoping to find a solution to have a computer automatically scan all media, especially USB thumb drives, upon insertion. Any ideas? Thanks. |

if auto protect is running, and they try to access a file on any media, auto protect will prevent access to the file. as long as automatic updates are enabled, that should be sufficient protection, no?

Instead of worring about the computers getting infected with spyware and viruses, have you thought about using registry restoring software like Roxio GoBack or Centurian Guard?
Everytime the PC is restarted the registry and any changes are restored back to the initial way the PC was setup. |
