Downloading the Fedora Cord DVD: md5sum errors
I've downloaded the Fedora Core 2 DVD ISO a couple times now, and each time, the md5sum hasn't come out right. The file size seems right, and it completed in as long of a time as it should, but I can't seem to get a valid copy of it.
I've tried burning the ISO and installing from it anyway, but I get a pretty generic error pretty early on in the process. So can anyone recommend a way to download a file, and fully ensure it's validity? Is there some program that I can use that will give me extra protection against the problems I'm having? |
Use wget, use different mirrors to download the file, and hope you find one with the right MD5 sum.

well... I'd like to download this using my Windows machine, as that's the one with the DVD burner. I have wget for cygwin, but it always gives me a "Connection Refused" message for anything I try to download (this DVD or otherwise...)

You can download wget through the GnuWin32 project on SourceForge - Just drop the executable & dlls in \windows\system32 (or somewhere else in your path) and you can use wget from cmd.exe :)
