I'd sell the 5900 Ultra for around $150 used. Yes, the 6800 GT is worth it, all $400-$450. Mine is way too powerful for how much it cost. The eVGA OC's extremely far as well (mine is at 427/1200 MHz when the default is 350/1000 MHz) with stable results.
If you upgraded you'd notice a huge difference in resolution and image quality settings. Your PC would be godlike with that processor and videocard combo. -Lasereth

yes it is well worth it but I personally didn't like the cooling for the evga version
I liked the BFG version better. (I took it off and put a water block on anways so all is well)

Get it while it's hot. This is basically a 6800 Ultra underclocked to 325.

It doesn't really matter which GeForce6 6800 GT you upgrade to, some may have nicer/more quiet fans, but its basically all the same. Only real things to differentiate between cards are price, software bundle, and the color of the board.
And from what I understand, just about every 6800GT can be overclocked to GeForce6 6800 Ultra speeds. And you will definately notice a very big difference between your current card and the 6800GT. Its probably 2x-3x faster in every case with much better image quality. Moreover, it supports Directx 9.0c, so it is relatively future proof. |
