"winamp media file"
alrighty. Winamp was giving me troubles, so I uninstalled it. But, all my previous files i used to open with winamp were still labeled "winamp media file"s in windows explorer. After meticulously going through the registry and deleting any reference to "nullsoft" or "winamp" whatsoever, this still appears. any solutions? the main thing that does this annoyingly are AVI files, which amusingly enough open using DivX player (like I want), have a windows media icon, and say "winamp media file" in the type column.
EDIT: Bah, fixed my problem. Reboot and TweakUI refresh icons did the trick, after all my reg-haxoring. Damn I hate regedit. |
too late to help you with your registry editing, but there are two nice utilities I have that you might want for future reference:
Registry Detective and RegCleaner both of these sure make registry changes a HELL of a lot easier I got regdetective from one of the PC magazine's websites, cant remember where I got the other. Im sure google will turn them up. |
