Sony P8 digital camera needs repair
 

Unfortunately, my camera got dropped and now the stupidest thing is wrong - the automatic lens cover won't open. Every other function on the camera works fine, except I can't get the littel servomotor that opens the lens cover to work, rendering the whole thing useless.

Anybody run into this before and know how to fix it? Sony won't repair it for less than $200 regardless of what's wrong.

my brother had an olypmous with thsi same problem.... all i did was manually force the lens cover open ( carefull force) and whamo it worked just fine... if you havent already maybe this could work... possibly if the motor is broke it would at least benifit you being stuck open...
